Spring Morning
Good morning Spring!
You’ve called again I see!
Why did you wait so long?
To warm my blood and catch my heart,
with your golden finery?
Do come right in
And show your wares to me.
A gown of blue, a robin’s nest.
smocks of green and purple too.
Come, take my hand,
And dancing on we’ll go,
Passing primrose, lilac, yew
New born lambs with mothers by, streams that murmur low.
How sweet you smell,
how young and gay,
With merry step and bright green eyes
And yellow garlands in your hair,
You steal my heart away.
