The Rolle Canal Society

The Rolle Canal and Northern Devon Waterways Society was officially established on 28 April 2003. The lovely old Rolle Canal linked Bideford with Torrington and beyond, built long before the railway, and using just one lock and an inclined plane. Many of its features can still be seen from the Tarka trail and it is hoped that this Society will raise visitor’s awareness.
